

Naomi Yané is a broadcast journalist, New Yorker and Jersey girl with roots in The Democratic Republic of the Congo. She’s also the evening and weekend reporter for News 12 New Jersey.
Before returning to New Jersey and joining News 12 as a reporter, Naomi could be seen reporting on Long Island communities for Verizon FiOS 1 News. Before her time at FiOS, she helped New Yorkers navigate through morning traffic on Fox 5’s Good Day New York and on News 12 the Bronx & Brooklyn.
She's covered Bronx communities for BronxNet TV and from May 2010 to June 2017 she worked as a traffic anchor for Spectrum News NY1. Prior to her time at NY1, she was a traffic producer with Metro Networks/Shadow Traffic at WCBS-TV in New York City.
Naomi was also a voice over artist lending her vocal talent to NYC based lifestyle and entertainment company CityBuzz, highlighting New York City events.
In 2018 she earned her master's degree from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, with a concentration in urban reporting.
She volunteers with the Lupus Research Alliance, she’s a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.
Naomi is a dog lover and has a passion for travel--and is fluent in French and Lingala.
